Evgenia Luzhina-Salazar was born in Moscow. In 1980, she received a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and Design from the Moscow School of the Arts. After she graduated, Evgenia worked as a theatrical artist at the Moscow Theatre of Chamber Forms for five years. Her costume and stage design works included numerous performances in Moscow, Los Angeles, and Washington D.C. In 1991, Evgenia moved to the United States of America, where she continues her professional career as a designer and artist.
Evgenia Luzhina-Salazar is the recipient of numerous awards. She is the winner of the prestigious Maryland Fashion Awards 2012, the 2010 Helen Hayes Awards, the 2014 “Silver Archer” national award. She is a participant of Couture Fashion Week in New York City since 2011 (www.couturefashionweek.com)
Evgenia has over thirty years of experience in her field. She worked in several Russian and American theatres, designing and creating the costumes for over fifty performances. Evgenia hosted her own show “Passion Runaway”, which was presented in the Russian embassy in the United States, at an exhibition in Chicago’s Convention Center, at the Sylvan Theater and the Synectic Theater, at an officer’s club in Fort McNair, and also at the first annual competition of models in Washington D.C.
She has earned the recognition of both local and foreign critics through national newspapers, on television, and on the radio.
