How to Participate in the Festival
The children's and youth theater groups performing in Russian are invited to participate in the International Festival of Russian-Speaking Children and Youth Theaters (the Festival). The theaters may work in any genre (music, drama, puppet, etc).
Each of the theaters participating in the festival program empower to show a performance lasting no more than 45 minutes.
At lest 50% of the theater group performers must be under 21 years old. Theater performers older than 21 years of age, will not be evaluated or nominated in the Acting category of the competition.
Along with the theater groups the individual participants involved in theater activities (directors, managers, play writers, stage designers and theater artists) with no age restrictions are invited to work together within the framework of the Festival project.
The teams are responsible for their stage equipment, technical equipment and scenery for productions The preference is given to the shows with the minimal time and effort requirements for stage design and equipment installation.
Each theater group, as well as legal entities or individuals applying for participation in the Festival must submit the application form and pay the registration fee in accordance with the rules set out in the "Regulations on the International Festival of Russian-Speaking Children's and Youth Theaters." Theater groups who have submitted an application to participate in the meet the conditions and terms under the Regulations are allowed to participate in the Festival.
Preview of the performances announced for participation in the contest is conducted in two phases. At the first phase the participants are selected by the Organizing Committee and by the Expert Council of the Festival based on the video attached to the application. At the second phase the theaters, passed the preliminary selection, are allowed the show of their work in the framework of the competition program during the Festival event. They can be awarded prizes in one or more Festival nominations based on the decision made by the Festival Jury.
The Expert Council and the Jury Panel of the Festival are formed by the Organizing Committee. Both are composed of international experts with experience in the examination and evaluation in the field of theater arts, vocal art, music instrumental performance, professional composers and directors. The Expert Council is generated for the period of preliminary qualification for qualified assessment of the submitted works. The Jury Panel works in the period of the actual Festival event. A member of the Expert Council may be entered into the composition of the Jury Panel.
The Jury Panel prepares evaluation criteria for the Festival nominations, given the level of artistic performances presented, and determines the winners in the following categories:
- Best Supporting Actor / Best Supporting Actress;
