The national collective “Balaganchik” Theater Studio was created in February, 2002 by Volokitina Nadezhda Alekseevna, a professional actress trained to operate a puppet theatre. The repertoire of dramas in the Theater Studio include both musical and puppet performances, such as “We are playing Exuperi”, “Aladdin’s Magic Lamp”, “The White Sorcerer”, “Adelmina’s Pearl”, “Mukha-Tsokotukha”, “Ryaba’s Chicken”, “Who said ‘Meow’?”, “Geese-Swans”, “Kolobok”, and many others. Children and young people from the ages of 3 to 25 study at the theater.
In 2009, “Balaganchik” Theatre Studio was awarded the honorary title of “National Collective”. The Collective includes the numerous laureates and diplomas of international, national, and regional competitions and festivals.
On the recommendation of the Union of Theatre Workers of the Russian Federation Nadezhda Volokitina twice has been awarded the state scholarship for work with children in the field of culture and art.
Nadezhda has attended the second International Festival as a guest, but she could not be a simple spectator. With the help of the actors of the theater "Radost" she presented to the public a new puppet show, "Hey, anybody there?". This symbolic representation tied the two countries - the United States and Russia, across the ocean.
